“TRAINING” for an IT company is a post recruitment or pre-recruitment necessity wherein the organisation trains people in order to transform one-self into a “ready to work” professional. Training word often creates a perplexity in mind. But training makes you learn the organisation routine life, a way to handle something which one could not do earlier.

At NSPL learning means adding something new to one’s knowledge every day. NSPL actually transforms one’s mind in the way desired by the corporate world. NSPL spends vital time for teaching the student not in the way of an institute but in the way the corporate demands.

NSPL has started its batch for 6 month industrial internship from 1st June 2011. In this training trainees have been divided such that in each batch there are only 5 trainees in order that attention is paid on each and every trainee equally wherein they can clarify their doubts easily and interact with their trainer directly.

Students from various reputed universities have enrolled for the training like CHITKARA, L.P.U, GNDU and they are actually learning and obtaining what they want.

NSPL not only trains its trainees in the field they choose but it enhances and works towards overall development of the trainees so that they don’t face any kind of difficulty in any sort of IT field.

The trainees under training have been allocated separate links wherein they can find their training details.

The company has undertaken following live projects from U.S.A clients on which the trainees are themselves working:
1) GLOBAL POSITIONING SYSTEM (asp.net)
2) PROJECT MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (PHP).

The trainees for the first three months learn the skills and techniques in the company and then next three months they will use skills learnt at NSPL on the project. NSPL is actually producing future software engineers with all skills carved on their mind as required by the IT world.

After completion of training, NSPL offers placement to the hardworking and worthy trainees on the basis of their performance during the training.

                                                                                              Written By : Insha Rafiq

At NSPL learning is always given a great importance. And it considers industrial training as a vital time for learning whether the industrial training is of two months or of six months.

This industrial training is part of the placement program at NSPL These trainees will be injected into NSPL as Software Engineers when they complete their graduations.

At NSPL the first batch of the season for two month trainees has started on 22nd June 2009. Six students from various colleges were selected for this purpose. First of all these six students were divided into two batches of three students each. The batches were named as the Pegasus and Phoenix as per the tradition followed in NSPL.

These students were inducted into NSPL with brief introduction to Culture, reputation and working of NSPL. Students were also made aware of the various industrial standards that are followed world wide in various software companies.

Then they were provided with the guidelines that they will be following through out their training. Later students were introduced to their training guide Ms. Rachna Singh who is senior software developer in NSPL. The training started the same day with brief introductions to the subjects.

NSPL is determined to bring out the perfect Software Engineers out these trainees. That is the tradition we follow, Firm determination and True Commitment.

5th June, A great day worth to be celebrated all around the Globe, But Do we celebrate it ? There are hardly 1% people in world know that 5th June is the World Environment Day and there are hardly 0.001% that celebrate it.

World Environment Day does not require resources that we need to celebrate other festivals and the days of Importance. It just demands a bit of your consideration. Realizing its social duty, NSPL came with up with some ideas to celebrate World Environment Day.

First of all the idea was to just clean the park in front of the office but later to add some sparkle to the event, Lunch hour was extended to two hours break. During these two hours each employee planted plants by his/her name in the park. Everybody in NSPL now owns a plant and is suppossed to take care of it.

Then it was the turn of the gardner, seeing the enthusiasm and motivation in us, he shared all the knowledge he gained in 20 years about plants with us. He told us about the properties and benefits of each plant and tree to us.

Efforts of NSPL may not make much of the difference to the Environmental conditions but if we all follow some steps to make our Environment cleaner, we can one day have a lot cleaner environment and healthy air to breathe in.

Shiksha Education Society, Patiala which has been dealing with education in Insurance line for years approached NSPL with this noble idea of providing education online.

Project seemed to be tedious to Shiksha Education Society as they had approached various companies, but did not get satisfied. Then one day chairperson of this society approached NSPL through reference of one of our previous client.

Web Application of Shiksha Education Society includes various functionalities like Stundent enquiry, Login Module, Online Course with only one chapter to be shown per day, Upload Resume facility etc.

The project was handled well by NSPl and made it look simpler to client who in the end was completely satisfied.

Campus Placements have always been a thing of charm for students as well as for a Company and GNDU have been one of the favoured places for this event.

Human Resource Management plays a vital role in the rise of a company. So one can say with utmost confidence that good Human Resource anagement can take a company to apex of success. As NSPL holds a long relationship with GNDU, even our previous HR was from GNDU.SO, NSPL headed to GNDU in search of their new HR Trainer.

Upon Reaching the campus our team, that consisted of Mr. Anuj Khanna, Mr. Vaibhav Sharma and Mr Sajad Ali , was cordially greeted by Mr. Amit Kumar. As our team reached the placement department, we had a pleasure to meet Dr. Sukhdev Singh, a very wise and experienced person.

After a cup of tea and a casual chat we were introduced to the pool of young MBA graduates who had an ambition to join NSPL.Our team introduced NSPL through Pre Placement Talk.

Interview round started with great enthusiasm, which was shown by candidates as well as the interviewers. The conditions were getting tough for the interviewers as every candidate was a master in his/her field, even the in between tea, coffee, cold drink and snacks could bring relief to them.

Mr Amit He wanted us to have our lunch before proceeding to remaining candidates, so we take a break. Mr. Amit Kumar guided us to the Guest House of the Campus. The lunch was ready even before our arrival ( Bravo, GNDU staff for your quick service). We were served with some spicy dishes that added more spice to the atmosphere around.

But as SRK has said it in ‘Om Shanti Om’, Picture was yet to be over. The story began yet again. the candidates and the interviewers fully charged up once again. The interviews continued, and finally came to an end.

Our team, after all the nutty calculations and observations, finally shortlisted the five candidates. And to judge them even better a presentation was thrown to them, more than a presentation that was a flirt with an IT Giant Satyam Computers.

The person had to assume himself as a HR of Satyam and had to lure fresher to join Satyam. But the results were above our expectations, our team once again found itself in a state where more than one student scored same.

So by 7 PM in the evening, our team was able to find the most sparkling gem out of a bag full of gems. No, our team indeed found a diamond out of gems. The diamond is a smart and witty girl Kritika Sharma.

So, our heartly congratulations to Ms. Kritika Sharma and we welcome her to the family named NSPL.

IT services sector has grown with leaps and bounces for the past few years and as a result of this growth, Software engineers are getting handsome salary packages all over India.

If you have read so far, it has become clear that you are either a student aspiring to start a career in an IT company or a person who have to appear for an interview ahead in some esteemed IT company. And if the above lines are true, you can access various Interview tips from NSPL HR Managers.

1. Project yourself Truly, donot bluff.

2. In most of the interviews, first question that will be put to you will be ” Tell about Yourself” Most of the time people(Mostly the students) start telling about their backgrounds and other personal information. This question can make the flow of you interview really smooth or can prove to be lethal. The answer to this question should be divided as follow: -Your name and City. -Your Academic Qualification. -Your qualities that you think may prove to useful for the Company. -Your Hobbies or interest Please note that the interviewer is there to take your interview and not to prepare your Biography. So be brief.

3. Be prepared with History of your City and Major specialities of it. That might not be useful for the company you are looking to enter in but if you are unaware of history of your city it projects your carelessness.

4. If you donot know any answer simply say that you dont know it.

5. Keep a smile on your face even under immense pressure. But please control your smile when the interviewer is talking something serious.

6. Dress Well. Your dress code is code to your personality. The dress should be parrallel to your personality. Dress well does not necessarily means that you should dress in expensive clothes, Just wear neat and nicely ironed clothes.

7.Do not sit till you are told to.

8. Switch off your mobiles before you enter interview room. Switch off means switch off here not to put your phone on silent.

9.Prepare yourself nicely with the profile of the Company. Visit their website for sure.

10. Do not forget to attend the Pre Placement Talk (PPT).

11. Add Mr/Ms with every name you speak in the interview. These are the basic business etiquettes.

12. Do not keep your pockets stuffed while going for interview. Your pockets must not bulge and hampers the looks of your clothes.

13. Donot get your hair cut just a day before interview. It shows that interview is the reason for your grooming.

14. Donot hesitate to ask for water if you feel parched during the interview, whatever may be the reason.

15. ” Do you want to ask something?”.This is the question that will mostly be asked at the end of the interview. It plays a really critical part in interview. Ask something related to the company, do not ask if you are selected or when will the result

Jab recession ki ghata Shayi, Meltdown ne li angdayi,
Satyam, LnT, HCL ne sath shoda mera, NSPL ne thama Hath Mera.

That was really poetic, isn’t it?
But that is raw truth.

I graduated from a renowned government engineering in year 2008. Being placed in three MNCs during campus rounds, I was on seventh cloud. World seemed to be waiting for me to make an impression.

But, No. World was heading towards darkness of Recession, Thanks to great USA economy. There were Job cuts all around. So my offers were also washed away in this flood.

I was loosing confidence with every day passing by. Then I came through NSPL’s website and saw an opening there. I rushed to NSPL with my CV. As I am writing in this blog, you must have already come to know that I got through.

But one thing that has attached myself to NSPL is that it is a company with a difference. Your talent matters more than your qualification and experience. You will find some BCA students getting through while ‘ B.Techies’ getting rejected, Reason the simple one……. Knowledge and Talent.

You will be getting curious to know more about my post. I am working as Assistant Project Manager in NSPL. Now tell me name of some companies where you find a fresh graduate being posted as Project Manager. This is how NSPL differ.

Talking of work culture, you will find your boss helping you and guiding you while you are on probation. Once you get permanent, you will be guiding someone else. Trip to different places on regular basis helps to keep every one fresh.

But I would like to add a reminder here, NSPL is not a company for faint hearted and support seekers. It is the company meant for self motivated, confident and always chilling attitude persons.

Vaibhav Sharma
Assistant Project Manager

NSPL was provided with this oppurtunities by JobSagar.com, when it organised a job fair named Oasis 2009 at Hotel President in Jallandhar.

NSPL was recieved with great honour by the organizing team of Jobsagar.com and NSPL recieved a great response from the participants at the Job Fair as it was the only IT company from Punjab present in the job fair. The other companies that were present there were Wipro, Aditya Birla Group, Bajaj Allianz, Genpact, Kapsons, Big 92.7 FM, and many more.

The interviews were going at a pace that was unimaginable.Candidates present were showing a great spirit of competition and it was hard for the Executives to short list them. But after tiring hard work for the full day, our Human Resource Executives finally shortlisted the candidates for the various positions in NSPL.

Next Day began with interviews of shortlisted candidates, and by the end of the day suitable candidates were selected and the results were passed to the JobSagar.com team and the candidates were later informed about the results.
